“FLH”: The Crucial Long-Term Travel Logistics Acronym

Lady Justice with globe and books in greyscale.

Today, I’m going to give you an acronym that will save you a lot of time, a lot of frustration, maybe some literal pain, and probably a lot of money:

FLH

I’m quite proud of this one, because I made it up (patent pending and all that), and doubly proud because it’s actually a double acronym.

What you have to remember in this case, is that for:

Financial,
Legal, &
Healthcare

The absolute best thing to do, always, is to:

Find
Licensed
Help

The reason is simple:

These are the most important serious matters you’ll face.

They can have such a profound and sweeping impact on your life that the only responsible thing in taking care of them is to get a qualified, licensed professional to help you.

Paying somebody real money to take care of issues of this gravity for you, especially ones that are so context-specific to your particular situation, is incredibly important.

There can be all kinds of variables, implications, and details that not only can you not be reasonably expected to come up with in a post you make or an email you send, but unless the person you’re communicating with has a background in the area – ideally both deep and wide – you may not even be getting a complete picture of an answer, let alone if you try and do the legwork yourself and cobble together things from random blogs, or random people in forums/Facebook groups.

Please, take this advice.

The relatively small amount of money you’ll pay, even for an initial consult, even if you hedge your bets and do several of them, will save you so much potential downside.

It’s why I’m so proud of the acronym, and how hopefully easy it makes it to remember.

Of course, ideally, you can find such a person by recommendation of someone you trust, who has had results from that person.

If not, then perhaps the question to ask is: “Who [you, or the person in a similar situation] have used, could you possibly recommend to me, or whom I could pay money to for advice?”
